Director’s Note

Welcome to our Spring Production 2013 and my debut as a director for BATS. For my choice of play I have gone a bit retro, back to my roots you could say. I remember having enormous fun doing an Inspector Pratt mystery/comedy a few years ago with Dorothy (Morris of course), so I thought why not give the old boy another outing in a different play.

I have been extremely fortunate with my cast, a lovely cross section of seasoned old hands (and I mean that in the nicest possible way!!) and some newer members taking on quite big parts, and rising to the challenge brilliantly.

With Easter being quite early this year we have had a shorter time frame than usual to prepare, but everyone has pulled out the stops, for which I am very grateful.

We also have two new members who have been helping our Stage Manager with the set, although there is always room for more behind the scenes, especially, as our incredibly talented Stage Manager, Alan Bailey, has decided to retire at the end of this year, after 25 years, very large boots to fill!!

Finally to you all, our wonderful audience, regular faces, new faces, your continuing support is vital, and most welcome. I do hope you enjoy your evening and have a good laugh.
