By Falkland L Cary. Originally produced by the Northampton Repertory Players in 1944.
Performed by STADS at St. Teilo’s Church Hall, Bishopston in April 1969.
James Ondersley, a successful, sophisticated businessman, has an unlikely passion for nibbling candied peel, and one day he discovers a gift box of his favourite confectionery to be impregnated with poison. He arranges a party at his weekend retreat and invites a selection of guests, any of which, he suspects, could be the poisoner. A detective also arrives to investigate. The truth slowly unfolds as the weekend passes, to the discomfiture of many of the tense guests. Only at the very end does the audience find out ‘who dunnit’.
